An Evening That Matters
On June 10, our community will gather in New York City in support of OriginAL — a program that helps young people from the Albanian diaspora reconnect with their roots, deepen their sense of identity and belonging, and build lasting ties with our homelands and with one another.
Through carefully designed journeys across Albania, Kosova, North Macedonia, and Montenegro, OriginAL gives young Albanians abroad the opportunity to experience their heritage not as an abstract idea, but as something living, shared, and deeply personal. Participants encounter our history and culture firsthand, engage with the realities of our countries today, and return with a stronger understanding of who they are, where they come from, and how they can remain connected to the future of our communities.
At a time when distance and generational change can weaken ties to language, memory, and homeland, OriginAL offers something essential: a meaningful pathway back. This evening matters because it helps ensure that more young Albanians around the world can carry that connection forward — with pride, with purpose, and as part of a growing global network shaped by belonging and shared responsibility.
